ChatGPT and Claude
Receiptix in Your AI Assistant
Connect Receiptix to ChatGPT or Claude and ask about your spending right where you're already working. The figures come from Receiptix itself — the same totals, categories and currency conversion as the reports in the app — with the receipts alongside, ready to open.
The connection only reads. Adding, editing and deleting receipts all stay in the app.
What You Can Ask
"How much did we spend on groceries last month?"
Totals and breakdowns by category, shop, tag, person or month, converted into your currency.
"Find the receipt for the headphones"
Search by what you bought, where, or what it was for — and open the receipt itself.
"What did the Lisbon trip cost, and who paid what?"
Projects work too, including the ones shared with you.
"Did we eat out more this month than last?"
Compare a period with the one before it.
Connecting
ChatGPT
Open Plugins, search for Receiptix, and add it.
Claude
Open Settings → Connectors, find Receiptix, and connect it. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http receiptix https://mcp.receiptix.io/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Either way, you then sign in on a Receiptix page. Use the same Apple, Google or email sign-in you use in the app — or choose Connect with the Receiptix app and approve it on your phone: scan the code the page shows, or enter it in the app under Settings → AI assistants. That way also works if you use Receiptix without an account.
The page names the assistant asking to connect. Only approve one you've just added yourself. (In ChatGPT's desktop app it may say Codex: that's the part of ChatGPT that runs plugins there.)
Connecting is easiest on a computer. Once it's done, Receiptix works in the same assistant on your phone too.
What the Assistant Can See
A connected assistant can search and read your receipts — in your personal space and in every project you own or that's shared with you:
- The merchant, date and amounts, and every line with its category
- Your tags, and who paid in a shared project
- The text read from each receipt, and links to its photo or PDF
- Totals and breakdowns, worked out the way the app's reports do
In a shared project it also sees the names of the project's members, as the app shows them to you. Your tags stay yours: there, too, it sees only the tags you added.
What ChatGPT or Claude does with what it reads is up to them, under their own terms — see our Privacy Policy for the details.
Disconnecting
In the app, open Settings → AI assistants and disconnect it, or do the same at auth.receiptix.io/account. Access stops within a minute.
Removing Receiptix inside ChatGPT or Claude stops them using it, but disconnecting in Receiptix is what ends their access for certain. Deleting your Receiptix account disconnects every assistant.
When the Answer Is "No Receipts"
The connection works; the account it reached has nothing in it yet. Either no receipts have been added — they come in through the app, by email, or through the Receiptix bot on WhatsApp or Telegram — or you signed in with a different account from the one in your app. Your account page shows which one you're using.
