Multi-Currency
Track Spending in Any Currency
Receiptix supports multiple currencies so you can record expenses exactly as they happened, in the local currency. Whether you're traveling abroad, managing international business expenses, or living as an expat, every amount is stored as-entered -- and automatically converted for spending totals.
How It Works
Personal Receipts
Each receipt can use any currency. You pick the currency when creating or editing the receipt. There's no restriction on mixing currencies in your personal expenses.
Project Receipts
Each project has a base currency, set when the project is created. Receipts in the project can use any currency -- spending totals are automatically converted to the project's base currency.
Currency Defaults
Receiptix uses smart defaults to save you time, while still letting you change the currency on any receipt.
- Default currency -- set your preferred currency in Settings. New personal receipts start with this currency.
- Recent currency -- when you change a receipt's currency, that currency is remembered and used for your next entry.
- Project currency -- when adding a receipt to a project, the project's currency is applied automatically.
Tips & Details
- Original amounts are always stored exactly as you enter them. When a receipt's currency differs from the project's base currency, Receiptix converts it automatically for spending totals and charts.
- Exchange rates are mid-market rates captured when the receipt is processed. On the receipt details screen, you can see both the original amount and the approximate converted value.
- Reports and charts show all amounts converted to the project's base currency, so you get a clear total even when individual receipts use different currencies.
- Great for travelers, international business, and expat life. Record a lunch in euros, a taxi in pounds, and groceries in dollars -- all in the same project, with unified totals.
