Siri Shortcuts
What Are Siri Shortcuts?
Receiptix integrates natively with iOS through App Intents, letting you add expenses using Siri voice commands without ever opening the app. Just speak your expense and Siri handles the rest.
This is an iOS-only feature. It uses Apple's App Intents framework, so your shortcuts stay fast, private, and deeply integrated with the operating system.
How to Use It
Siri shortcuts are registered automatically when you install Receiptix. There's no manual setup required.
Activate Siri
Say "Hey Siri" or long-press the side button on your iPhone.
Say the Command
Try "Add expense with Receiptix" and describe what you spent.
Done
Siri creates the expense using your current project and currency. No app launch needed.
Context-Aware Shortcuts
Siri shortcuts in Receiptix are context-aware. They automatically pick up your current project, currency, and locale settings. When you switch projects or change your locale in the app, the shortcut context updates to match.
- Current project — expenses go to whichever project you have selected
- Currency — uses the currency from your active project or default settings
- Locale — respects your current locale for formatting and language
Tips and Details
- No setup is needed. Shortcuts register automatically when the app is installed.
- Context updates happen in real time. Switch your project in the app, and the next Siri command will use the new project.
- Shortcut data is cleared when you sign out of Receiptix, so your expense context stays secure on shared devices.
- This feature is available on iOS only. Android does not support App Intents.
