Sharing Projects
Overview
Shared projects let multiple people log expenses to the same place. Roommates splitting rent. A team tracking event costs. Friends on a trip. Everyone adds their receipts, and the project keeps a running total with a breakdown of who spent what.
Project sharing is a premium feature and requires an active Receiptix subscription.
How to Use It
Inviting Members
- Open the project you want to share.
- Tap the Share button.
- Receiptix generates a shareable invite link.
- Send the link to the people you want to invite (text, email, messaging app, whatever works).
- When someone opens the link and joins, they appear in the project's member list.
Only the project owner can generate invite links and add or remove members.
Member List
The member list shows every person in the project. Each entry displays the member's display name, profile photo, and role (owner or member). The owner is clearly labeled.
Removing Members
The project owner can remove any member from the project. Tap the member's entry and confirm removal. Their previously added receipts remain in the project.
Permissions
Owner
- Edit and delete all receipts in the project
- Invite new members and remove existing ones
- Edit project settings (name, description, icon, color)
- Archive the project
- Move receipts between projects
- Access all reports and exports
Member
- Add new receipts to the project
- Edit and delete their own receipts only
- View all receipts and project data
- See the per-member spending breakdown
- Access all reports and exports
Tips
Member Spending Breakdown
The reports tab shows how much each member spent. Use this to settle up after a trip or split shared costs without guesswork.
Everyone Sees Everything
All members can see all receipts in the project. If you need to track expenses privately, use a personal (non-shared) project instead.
One Owner per Project
The person who creates the project is the owner. Ownership cannot be transferred. If you need a different owner, create a new project.
Premium Required
Project sharing requires a Receiptix subscription. The project owner needs an active subscription. Members can join shared projects on any plan.
